Wedding Help!!!

I am a bride to be and need help planning the perfect wedding since I only plan on doing this once. Do you have an interesting idea for a wedding? What little extras did you have that made your wedding day a successful, memorable one? All suggestions are greatly appreciated. I have one thing I want to do that is pretty unique and cost efficient. I plan on having my computer at my wedding, hooked up to a video camera so my online friends, and out of town guests can attend. I am interested in traditional as well as modern wedding ideas. Thanx in advance :)

Hi. I used to be a wedding planner about six years ago. We did over 500 weddings. I have a ton of unique ideas that range from pure elegance to pure fun at all different price ranges. If you know your colors, ideas or themes or even a general direction you want to go I will be happy to pull out the black book and see if I can offer anything useful.

We bought small bottles of champange with personalized labels; they had our first names & the wedding date. We used them as part of the centerpiece at each table & our best man & maid of honor asked guests to open them for the toasts. Many guests took home the bottles as party favors, too. They really weren`t too expensive, like maybe $2 each. Can`t remember where we got them, but I`m sure you can find something similar online. Good luck!

There are so many interesting ideas you can use for your wedding. Mine is coming up in May and I`ve gathered some of the neatest ideas I`ve seen:

CDs as wedding favors with some of the special songs we`ll be playing at the wedding on them (I have a burner, bought a labeler (20$) and the cds themselves run about $1 a piece in bulk. This can get expensive if you farm it out!)

I`m having a caligraphied scroll made for the seating arrangement instead of cards. This way I can keep it as a beautiful memento when the day is over.

I`m hoarding sticky film for a couple of i-zone cameras and when the guests sign my book, I`m having them sign next to their pictures so there is a face to go with the names! The stickly film and i-zone function like a mini-polaroid, then you stick the picture in the book.

Most important - before deciding on the nice frills, don`t skimp on the reception itself! Make sure the food is good, the music makes people want to dance and the drinks are FREE to the guests! This is my day as a bride but it`s a PARTY for all of my guests who have been part of my life, so it`s for THEM, too! If you don`t put the best reception you can together on your budget, skip the frills!

And have fun!! Good luck!

I am looking for a source on snowflake confetti to be used on the tables at the reception.

I`ve read about that idea of having a photograph to sign rather than a guest book that you`re never going to open again. That sounds terrific. How big did you make the photo? I`ll probably have approximately 120 guests, I`m concerned about having enough room for everyone to sign.

Hey Kimberly!

I am doing this for my own wedding, It doesn`t really matter what size picture you get. I would put an extra large matte around the picture and have the guests sign that. If the picture get`s too big it starts to look narcissistic.

Our photographer did our engagement photos and he matted it and framed it. We had about 100 people at our wedding and there was plenty of room. I can`t remember the size of the picture (it was really big), but it was a normal sized matting for the size of the picture (I`m thinking 16x20). My cousin did her own picture, and it was much smaller but theirs seemed plenty big enough too. I don`t think her wedding was quite as large though. Also remember that if you have 120 guests, that doesn`t mean you`ll have 120 signatures (couples and families will probably only sign once).
