Hi Kevin,
I have a few questions for you. You didn't mention whether or not this will be strictly an indoor reunion or if outdoor activities be available.
(If your reunion will be in a cold area, outdoors will probably be out of the question in February). Will you have a "Children's Activities Director", Babysitter, or other child care provider? (Older children/teens will sometimes gladly "volunteer" (especially if monetarily supplemented) to do this).
Children at family reunions can play the same games as one would play at a birthday party or group games with which most of us are familiar. Games such as "pin the tail on the donkey" (or somethng similar); duck, duck, goose; Bingo; Twenty Questions; blind man's bluff; hot potato and other such games are a good indoor games.
Arts & crafts and other activities such as puppet making, ice cream sundae making, and face painting are always fun (messy though). There are several very good books available in party shops and bookstores on these subjects.
Scavenger hunts are one of the best outdoor games. You can hire a "Rent a Naturalist" or animal handler for Nature themed activities.
I have done several family reunions, bringing live (misunderstood) animals. I don't know where you are located, but I may be able to refer you to someone who does something similar in your area.
Please feel free to contact me with any other questions.
