My husband of 3 years(as of 6/12/04) met through a personals ad I placed opn the internet. Neither of us was looking for anything really serious at the time. I was a lonely single working mom, looking for a friend. We talked via email , IM and Telephone for a month or 2 before we actually met. When we did finally meet, Well, this may sound corny, but, it was love at first sight, and we felt like we had known each other for a long time. Not only did I find my husband, but my best friend.
Everyone we knew, who knew how we met, were doubtful that it would ever work out. They all thought meeting someone that way was a bad idea. We proved them all wrong. I was nervous at first, because all my previous relationships with men were with total jerks(and that is putting it mildly). So i had a lot of trouble trusting men. He turned out to be a very good person who had pretty much a lot of the same bad luck i have had. He is a greatr father for my children and a wonderful husband. We have a pretty big family between the two of us. We each had 3 kids from before and we love them all the same. Just like the "Brady Bunch" lol.. I really lucked out with him. It just goes to show you that anything is possible, and that things turn around when you least expect them to, and aren`t trying so hard.

Hi there, my fiance and I met on the internet, each looking for a roommate! I needed a room, he had one. Emailed each other for weeks before finally talking on the phone for the first time for 4 hours. We were in love, then we met face to face. Funny part is that I moved from Illinois to Colorado, 1000 miles away. We will be married this June, 9 months after we first met..email me at jaynaswedding@yahoo.com if I can help with your book

Hi, Donna. For a while, I`ve wondered how people get to know one another through the internet- (I`m still rather new to it). If you or anyone else has the time, I`d be interested to hear how to do this - as a means of making friends.

My Harry and I met on a chat room 5 years ago. We changed our nicks several times and accidentaly we ended up talking to each other each time we changed our nicks, which was very surprising. We both never had any dating experience from the internet, we both thought of it as desperate. So we felt very surprised and puzzled by these strong feelings we started to have for each other, feelings that we couldn`t control.
We are from very different cultures and live in 2 different countries. However we managed to keep our relationship for 4 years and we got married last christmas. This year we`ve been blessed with a little boy that we adore.
I cant` explain how people find their soulmates online. It is so unbelieveble, so my theory on it is two people that are soulmates are connected to each other no matter in what part of the world they are, and internet is just a connection medium as a party or a movie theater.
When I saw Harry I liked him right away, but I think I really fell in love with him when I got to know him better in person. Through the last 5 years we have gone through so many problems and difficulties, but we tried hard to not give up on each other`s love. We have been so many years apart but I rather be happy only for a few moments a year knowing that I`ll spend my life with him forever, then regretting not having him at all. I love him more and more each day and I do believe that there are no guidelines on finding true love.

Haha, hi everybody! My current fiancee and I also met on the internet. He was in Montana, I was in Indiana. We`re getting married in May. :-)
It was complete coincidence that we met, as we were both testing an online website. Then we found out that both our pets were named after Lord of the Rings characters. My bird is named Samwise. His dog is named Baggins.
There was also the small matter that we both drink green tea like addicts and own way, way too many books. After all, I`m a Ph.D. Student, he`s a writer.
In any case: Quite the conversion starter! And it must have been a good conversation: he packed up his stuff and his dachshund and drove out to Indiana so we could be together.
Just had to share that. :-)
Also, you don`t have much information up about the book. But I could write something up if you need submissions. My email is ddubois@nd.edu .

I stumbled upon this site tonight and noticed the topic. I met my current boyfriend online. He is the best guy I have ever dated, and we have plans to get married as early as 1 year from now in December 2005.
We were not trying to meet people online at all, it was a strange coincidence and a unique story, we think.
We would love to be a part of your book if you still need people.
Good luck with the book!

Me and my fiance meet on the internet too on our wedding day it will be a little over 4 years ago we meet on the internet. I was a senior in high school in a little town in New York and he was a Freshman in Kansas.
I think us meeting on the internet and talking like we did gave us an advantage that most people dont get when they just date. I was not looking for someone really. We were introduced by freinds and hit it off.
I could not be happier.

Hello,
I saw your post on the "party-pop" website. I met my fiancée online (migente.com). I had just moved to NYC in 2005 and was looking for a job. Because I was home all day I was online allot! I built a webpage on about 3 different websites, not for dating, just for fun and to keep myself busy. My fiancée emailed me because he saw my webpage. We started talking on the phone in October. We met face to face only because my roommate at the time kicked me out of the apartment. So I made a date with him because I had nothing else to do!!! The first date did not go as planned. I was nervous and drank too much. We watched the presidential debate and argued most of the evening (I`m a democrat, he`s a republican). Needless to say I wasn`t fond of him and I suspect that he thought I was a crazy woman. The second date we made I blew him off. But for some reason I gave him another chance. Three times was a charm because that was the night I fell in love!!! Three months later we moved in together, and three months after that he proposed!! We are getting married on June 10th of this year. If you like my love story and want more details, please feel free to respond to this email, I would love to be part of your book!!!!!!!
PS Congratulations of finding your true love!!!!
Sincerely,
Rachel Levy & Damian Ramos
