How Sad....

How sad that we are sitting here planning silly matching tableclothes, and flowers and all the gook when people are being exploited all over the world. Here are pictures of the iraqi men who were tortured by the american soldiers...

If they had heeded the Bible`s counsel to remain neutral, they wouldn`t even be there. And besides,Soon all the world`s probelems will be over anyway, because Jehovah is going to bring about a change for the better. In the meantime,we are exhorted to remain "no part of the world," and the only fight we should have to fight is one against Satan, who is "Walking about like a roaring lion seeking to devour someone"(2 Peter 5:8)

WHAT,DAWN,WHAT??? Yes I am one of Jehovah`s Witnesses, And yes, I always talk about the Bible. But you know, the Bible has always helped me through life,so I like to share it with other people, who might have problems that the Bible can solve, and they don`t even know it! And what is so wrong with talking about the Bible anyways?

How sad, Nicholas Berg was brutally decapitated on video for his family and the rest of the world to see by these crazed lunitics whos only goal is to exterminate Americans and brainwash their people into thinking we are all evil and that evryone should plant road side bombs and take up flying lessons before boarding American Airlines. Yeah, lets all feel sorry for those prisoners who were humiliated and not take a stand against the autrocities taken against innocent civilians who were there to help rebuild Iraq.

Katie,
I was not referring to your bible quote, I was referring to the original poster who has posted the same line on here about 4 times implying how silly we`re being talking about tableclothes.

Well it`s clear that we ALL have very DIFFERENT opinions and ideas when it comes to Iraq and our country`s interest there.
However, there is one thing we should be able to agree on and be thankful for.
If we were not Americans...but rather Iraqi women...we wouldn`t be able to express such different political and even religious views.
So no matter what you believe....you should be thankful to be an American and support our troops overseas. Despite the few idiots who made very bad decisions regarding the Iraqi POWs.

Um dawn, i beg to differ. If you read anything about Islam, you would realize that these woman had more rights than American women, and they were given these rights more than 1400 years ago when Islam came. Women in America were not allowed to vote until early 1900s, they were not allowed to own land until around that same time also.

Do you know why women change their last names when they get married here in America? It goes back to the time when women were not allowed to own anything in their name, and they themselves were considered property, turned over from father to husband. Thats why she got her husband`s last name to show ownership. Hardly any other country does this, infact Muslim women keep their father`s last name after they get married.

Why don`t you become more educated about Islam and Iraq. Just because they cover themselves and are modest doesnt make them inferer to you. You think you feel sorry for them because they have to dress that way, well, they have more rights than you and they had it before you. They are respected for their mind and character and not their sexy legs, or boobs that are hanging out.

They don`t sell themselves cheap by sleeping with any man and every man. There is no such thing as pre-maritial sex in Islamic religion. The man has to marry her legally and provide for her and take care of their children. Yea, thats why so many men have to be chased down by the law in America in order to pay child support. Thats why women in america have so many issues with men and how they treat them. Thats why 70% of american women in jail are in there because they killed thier husband or significant other because they were abusing them....

If you want to learn about real Islam and Women`s rights in Islam, check out these two websites....

Dede,
I don`t think that`s the reason women today change their name. It`s a sign of respect for their husbands. Ephesians 5:23 says that the husbands are the head of the household. This does not mean that they can boss the wife around, for verse 28 says that they need to love their wives as their own body. But in verse 22,us wives are directed to be in subjection to their husbands. THAT is the reason I am going to change my last name.

I don`t think anything in the Bible says a woman must change her last name?? I`ve never seen that. My husband says he doesn`t care if I change my name or not. He certainly doesn`t feel I am disrespecting him, if I decide to keep my maiden name. And anyways, why should someone have to change their name?

Oh,they don`t have to,. It`s completely a conscious matter. All I was trying to do was show her that some people change their name, not because they were forced to at one time, but to show respect. I am going to change my name, because my conscious is telling me to do so. I hope your marriage lasts, and maybe someday you two can live forever, Never having to worry about growing old, getting sick, and dying. Same with everyone here. There are so many divorces every day,and Malachai 2:16 says that Jehovah God hates a divorcing. May all of our marriages be strong and last as long as they are supposed to-either forever or until the death of your mate.

I agree, the U.S. Should have remained neutral and not gone over there (to Iraq) in the first place.

I agree with you 100% Missy, but the fact is those young men & women on the front line truly believe they are fighting and dying to protect the liberties we all enjoy including the right to have a free opinion on a topic such as this so for that reason alone I will stand by our our troops.

Katie,

I agree with what you have to say. My mother is a Jehovah`s Witness and i was raised as one. I agree with their religious beliefs, in my heart i know it is the religion that will save us all. Unfortunately, i never got baptized and i left all that behind when i was 17 for personal reasons that i will always regret. Thank You for your encouragment and your kind words. Sam

Sam,
It is not too late to go back if you want to. The Bible says to draw close to Jehovah, and he will draw close to you. It does`nt say that once you leave you can never go back. If you know that Jehovah is the only one who can help, and you do not wish to be destroyed, contact either a congregation near you or the the faithful and discreet slave. If you`d like, you can email me and I can give you the adress for it.
