Outdoor Ceremony....Veil Or Not?
I am having an outdoor ceremony in October and I can`t decide if I should wear my veil or not. I don`t want it to be blowing in my face the whole time.
Any suggestions????????

I am also having an outside wedding in August at 7:00 pm in the evening. I am not wearing a veil because I didn`t want the wind blowing it around and I wanted more of a simple garden-like wedding ceremony. Instead of a veil, I am wearing a pearl headband in my hair.

We are also having an outside ceremony. Actually the wedding is in 10 days. I am wearing a veil. Didn`t think about the wind and stuff. I will let you know how it goes. :o)

Thanks for your replies. Mel, please let me know how it goes.
Are either of you using an aisle runner? If not what are you using?

You could wear a veil that doesn`t have a tier over your face...one that starts at the back of your up-do or headpiece.

Just a slight suggestion:
If you want to wear a veil outside and are worried about the wind, you could sew small, light weights inside the ribbon edge (if you have one) to keep it down. Hint: don`t think fishing line weight, too heavy! Think metel beads (you can find these in a craft store). If it is excessivly windy, this might not work, but a light breeze shouldn`t affect it too much.

I`m having an outdoor ceremony, too, but no veil for me. We`re going for a casual wedding - nothing too bride-ish.

We bought an aisle runner........hopefully it won`t be windy out, it might blow away.....lolol. Not quite sure what to do. We`ll figure it out at the rehearsal Saturday.
I`ll let you know

Maybe you could get a very stiff kind of veil, made of tulle fabric, that won`t blow around too much if its windy. You could check the weather reports for that day, it may not be windy at all. I have seen veils worn at outdoor weddings, its quite common. Some women who have outdoor weddings, though, just wear flowers in their hair or a small tiara.
