Just A Question
I am getting married in less than two weeks, we wanted to do something fun when we walked back down the isle after being married. The DJ had suggested play the song "Another One Bites the Dust", I just wanted some opinions, tell me what you would think if you heard that! Thanks

Well, if I knew you, which I don`t then it would depend on if you had been joking about it in the past. If not, then I`d say that it`d be a little wierd.

Let me explain a little more...
We are both 22 (9 days apart), it would be to more or less lighten the mood. We want everyone to have fun, so ya of course it would be all in fun.

Since you are asking for opinions, I will tell you I think its an awful song to play for a wedding or reception.

Are you getting married in a church? That sort of music is not appropriate for a church and I`d be surprised if a church would even allow it to be played. Personally, I wouldn`t play that song even if I got married in a park - but that is just my opinion. You do what`s best for you but I recommend finding a different song.

I don`t know about a song for the church...but we`re doing a song when we`re announced at the reception (okay i know everyone does that). But I think it`s a great song. Blues Brothers - Gimme some lovin. We having just the music (no lyrics) looped for the bridal party announcements...then after we`re announced it will be the portion:
So glad we made it
So glad we made it
You gotta
Gimme some lovin` (Gimme some lovin`)
Gimme some lovin` (Gimme gimme some lovin`)
Hope this helps...some may think it`s corny but I like it better than the baseball hockey ..whatever song everyone else plays.
Hope it helps.

I would laugh my bum off!! But I would wonder about the reaction from the grandparents, or any elderly guests.

They played that song at my cousin`s wedding when they announced the couple. I thought it was kinda trashy myself, and so did a lot of other people. But, to each their own.

YEAH HEIDI!!
YOU GO GIRL---LIVE BY YOUR OWN WORDS.
`To each his own`.
I`m is so frustrated with the rude things people say on here.
Don`t you THINK that like all the other brides to be on this site we have people giving us their opinions all the time!! Like mothers, sisters, inlaws....and how they don`t like this and don`t like that.
So women come on this site to search for information and ask questions...NOT TO BE JUDGED AND INSULTED.
I think the people who post rude remarks on this site....probably are just pissed off because they can`t get a man!
I was only trying to help the original poster with my idea...I didn`t need the `trashy` comment from you Heidi.

Whoa, easy tiger. First of all, I was talking about the "Another one bites the dust" song, not the one you`re using for your wedding, which I`ve never heard but it sounds sweet. Second of all, why ask questions on this site if you don`t want honest answers? It`s my understanding that this board is for feedback, both positive and negative, on ideas that brides (or grooms) have. The person who originally posted this message (J) said, "I just wanted some opinions, tell me what you would think if you heard that! Thanks", not "this is what I`m doing, please tell me how much you love my idea."
Third, since you seem to think this is somehow relevant to my post, I actually do "have a man", but even if I didn`t, I hardly think my lack of man would drive me to leave intentionally rude comments on this site.
So, relax, hon, I was not attacking you, and I apologize if it came across that way.

I know my song is rather trashy, hehe.. We are having Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson played as our entrance song, but that is the kind of music we and most of our guest listen to. We are not getting married in a church, but at our reception site so our music list is a little less restricted.
I think you should use music that is you and what you are comfortable with. We are not comfortable with themore traditional stuff therefore we refuse to use it.
Good luck with whatever music you choose.
A lot of my music is being written and produced just for me since my FH is in a band and his guitar player/vocalist produces music and will be doing so for a living shortly.

I don’t want to keep saying this but it seems so relevant “I am Christian” but I’m also a young woman and the things my parents might think are inappropriate are different from what my friends and I think. I am going for the relaxed fun wedding as well I’m even trying to get my fiancé to come in to the beat to so fresh and so clean to lighten the mood before the wedding ceremony actually starts. Some people have different ideas on what’s exceptable for a wedding but the truth is now days woman don’t have to worry about that. Just be yourself and plan a day that you will always remember.

We kept the whole church thing pretty traditional, but still wanted to lightened the mood so....after the ceremony when everyone was waiting for us to come out of church to get in the limo, we wore Groucho Marx glasses(the ones with the nose attached). It was hilarious no one expected it.
