Lots of citronella candles (keeps mosquitoes away)....white tablecloths would look nice for outdoors. I know that Sonny Bryan`s does catering at very reasonable prices, also.

I am doing the same thing for my reception. My fiance n I are getting married on July 3rd but its more like a civil ceremony in a park since we cant afford anything else right now. We are having the reception later on around the end of August though but we have no clue on what we need or whatever else for the bbq reception. If anyone has any ideas please let me know as well. It wont be a very big one ethier maybe 50-60 people.

My sister is doing the same thing and I can`t believe there isn`t more out there on this type of thing.
Please let us know what ideas you come up with so I can steal them! Something that I thought would be so easy is turning into something rather difficult!

Hi. I am having a BBQ reception as well. I have been having so many problems coming up with ideas that will work, though. We are having at my FH restaurant, which happens to be in a victorian style house, so no matter what I think of, it just does not look right. If you could share some ideas with me that would be great because my reception is only 46 days away!!

Beth, what about an indoor Victorian picnic? You could use old quilts (or just ones that look old) for tablecloths, and maybe use vintage picnic baskets somehow-- to hold flowers, maybe, or favors. Good luck!

Well I think I have come up with something nice, yet simple... I am going to use white tablecloth`s , I also bought some clay pots from a garage sale and spray painted them white , and bought some butterflies that i will hot glue onto the side for decoration, and add some flowers to them(real ones). (for the centerpieces) Then I am going to put a sticker with a number on each on, then put the same stick and #`s on some of the plates. Who ever has that plate takes home the centerpiece. Also we are going to pre-cook chicken and ribs, then cook them on the grill that day, have most...salads...baked beans, desserts..and hope and pray for no rain lol. I hope this helps...Thanks for all your reply`s ...andthing you want to add?? Just let me know..Thanks again...Monica

For our rehearsal dinner, the groom`s family has decided on a BBQ here are some the things we/they are doing.
Beige Tablecoths
Galvanized Vases with an assortment of dried wildflowers
I think they are using burlap or something similar around the bottom of the galvanized container.
You could use string or burlap in many ways
