We are having a graduation party for our son Brandon, where it says given by , do I put , Julie and Gordy Davis or Brandons parents

Depends on how comfortable you are with people addressing you by first names. My aunt and uncle (mainly aunt) are very strict on that. They are Mr and Mrs Michael "Smith" and we were never to call them by their first names only, it must be Aunt Ann and Uncle Michael, due to respect.
If you are comfortable with it than first and last name should be fine. Or you could put given by.. Mr and Mrs. Gary "Smith", I think this is a personal preference.
