I am planning a silvery snowflake theme wedding...any ideas or picks would be fabulous. So far we have a snowflake cake and place cards..invitations...what I really need is table ideas. We were thinking that we would put snowglobes in the middle but none seem to work with the silver

Hey! I`m in the starting phase of planning my wedding and came across the most amazing idea for centerpieces! (At least I fell in love with them!) Snow Villages! You know those beautiful villages people include in their winter decorations? I`m going to put one on each table. (Mine is going to be the City one since I live in NYC) This also helps in that I wont have to have boring table numbers...instead they are whatever building is on the table. This way people also have to walk around and really look at all of them! My wedding is a distance away so I have alot of time to buy them all and dont have to buy them all at once. Also, I can hit the after Christmas sales.
Anyone have any ideas for inexpensive winter party favors?

C,
Just a suggestion for party favors -- silver snowflake ornaments for your guests. You can get them at quite a nice price the day after Xmas and save them until your wedding.
Good luck!

There are lots of decorations that you can buy at the After-Christmas sales. Also, the snow villages decorations can be found at places like Home Depot and I think, Sam`s Club also. I have a friend who collects them. I think they are adorable. You might try looking on EBay for Christmas items.

I am using nativity scenes for center pieces. I will borrow them from family and friends - inexpensive and cute (at least I think so!)

Hi,
I`m having a winter wedding and am incorporating olive branches as my theme. As they signify peace and goodwill, I felt them to be a tasteful nod to the season. Martha Stewart has had many examples over the years (i.e. Black and white bouquet incorporating fruiting olive branches, olive branch arbor, china cake). I believe you can still view the cake online. In addition, my colors are black, white, gold, and chocolate. Upon ariving at the reception, warm mulled wine could greet your guests as well as warm apple cider, chocolate chip cookies and hot hor`duerves. As for attire, wear a white fur stole and kid leather opera gloves. I also love the idea of using winter fruits (e.g. Pomegranite sp?, figs, etc.), berries (e.g. Hypericum, snowberries), and foliage. Hope this helps.
