Would You Care If...?
We are having our reception at the country club in our town. When we looked at the beverage list- we found they are charging $1.75 per small glass (about twice the size of a dixie cup) of soft drink. With over 200 people- that`s going to be an outrageous bill- especially with a bunch of little kids. So we just decided to have coffee, iced tea, tea, punch and beer. Do you think that`s a bad idea?

I don`t think that`s a bad idea at all. Why spend a rediculous amount of money on pop, when iced tea and punch can accomplish the same thing for a lot less? I think that you are providing your guests with more than enough options for drinks, no sense in breaking your budget trying to provide even more choices.

I agree. That ends up being a whole lot of money just for soft drinks...most people will enjoy punch just as much...I personally wouldn`t mind.

I think that is a great idea. My reception is being held at a casino ballroom, and the price per person per hour for beverages is outrageous. It really isn`t a great idea to have a huge liquor selection because people tend to get quite drunk! I don`t want a bar brawl at my reception. Good luck and best wishes on your marriage!

No I don`t think its a bad idea at all. Also there`s no need for soft drinks at a reception anyway. Coffee, tea, punch and beer is fine.

Jen, I think what you are choosing to serve will be perfect. Who says one must provide soda? You have chosen a nice selection of beverages, so that everyone should be able to have something they like. Don`t even worry yourself another minute over this.
