Miniature Bride Dress
I have 2 cousins getting married this year, one in July, the other in October. They are sisters. I am a bridesmaid in the July wedding and my daughter is the miniature bride. After ordering our dresses we were notified they were in. We all ordered NEW (or so we thought). One of the bridesmaid dresses and my daugthers mini-bride dress came in with stains on them and seams popping. When we spoke to the manager we were informed of "how David`s Bridal works." When you order a dress they immediately search all of their stores for in stock dresses OFF OF THE SHELF in the style, color, and size. Then that is the dress you get. They are not ordering a dress made just for you. No discounts are given for the stained, torn, USED dresses. We complained and were told that they would order dresses from their D. C. (distribution center). When my daughters dress came from D.C. It again had stains and a tear under the arm on one side. If you held it to the light you could see where they had tried to clean it nd see the dark dirt streaks. It is now the end of April and they are still supposed to be locating a NEW dress. No discounts have been offered. I am calling their customer service as well as the May company to complain and try to get this rectified. We were informed this ordering process is the standard procedure for their company so BEWARE! They are horrible business people and their sales representative are dishonest. When taking her child to the restroom one of our bridesmaids overheard a sales rep asking her manager if they could "hold" dresses. She had a customer wanted to have a dress held for 48 hours and the manager said "I would tell them no because that is a sale that you are losing today, if you tell them no then they will buy it now and you get your sale." That is so sad. Good luck everyone! Remember Gingiss is owned by the May company also. They messed up every Tuxedo in my husband and I`s wedding a couple of years ago!

I have not heard of miniature brides. Does this mean the little girl dresses up in a smaller replica of the bridal gown?

Yes, they just get a small wedding dress. But all of the dresses in the store are "off the rack" purchases, not ordered made for you!

Tonya, David`s Bridal does not custom-make dresses for any customers as far as I know. Of course they are all "off the rack" gowns. If anyone has a problem with that, they should go elsewhere.

I understand that NOW! They did not disclose that at the time of purchase. Our salesperson told us the dresses would be ordered "Brand New" for us. She said that they had to be ordered to ensure the same die lot. The whole problem is that we were lied to and the products given to us have been DAMAGED and STAINED. Had we known when we "ordered" them that they were not really being ordered maybe we would not have these issues.
