I am not sure what equitte says but, mine was about a month before I got married. Several of my friends that have gotten married has had theirs around a month to 3 weeks before the day. I hope this helps you in some way.
Congrats and good luck!

I`m not sure if there is a per say standard, but I know mine were held approximately 8 weeks before my wedding.
Personally I think anytime within the 10 weeks before the wedding would be appropriate. I could be wrong, but it seems about right.

For my wedding, (02-26-2005) I am having my first shower in November. I don`t want to bombard my guests with showers and then Christmas! Also, my b/m`s have planned another one in January because Mardi Gras is the 2-08-05. The best thing for you to do is figure out what else is going on during that particular period of time. I don`t know of any set standards either, so I am going just going with the flow of events! Congratulations on your engagement and best wishes!

I am having one this weekend (6 weeks before my wedding). My BM`s are throwing it for me as a girls night out. Then another friend is having one for me 2 days before the wedding as we have a lot of out of town family (mom`s & sisters etc) that won`t be able to make it at any other time.
