Size Poll

I`m writing a paper on De Beres and am taking a poll on diamond size from those women who are engaged.

How big (carat) is everyone`s diamond?
What cut is it?
Clarity?
Color?
Is it set in platinum, white gold, or yellow gold?

My rings was my fiance`s grandmothers engagement ring. It is yellow gold and white gold with 3 stones. About 1/2 carat center and 1/4 carat on each side. The main part of the ring is yellow gold, but the white gold is used for fine detailing. The clarity is very good. I have received many compliments on my ring. Plus it means something extra special that it means a lot to him being that it was his grandma`s.

My paper is for a Business Law class I`m taking at the University of Chicago. We`ve all chosen a business that almost has an monopoly in their respective industries. De Beres almost has a monopoly in the diamond business just like Microsoft almost has an monopoly in the tech business. Part of my paper is a comparision from the past century and how the size of diamond engagement rings have changed.

My ring has a 57 point center round stone, with complimenting baguettes and smaller round stones on each side. The center diamond is E color (D is considered perfect!), S1 clarity, and set in white gold. Going with white gold instead of platimum allows one to spend more on the most important part of the ring: the diamond!

Hey KC ...I don`t believe ANYONE proposed to you with that attitude!! If you truly loved someone they could give you a .5 carat on 10k gold and you`d be happy!!

I am seriously appalled by the immaturity of some brides-to-be on this site. I`d prefer to think that such postings are from high schoolers fooling around. And if you not...then I feel sorry for you. Get off this site and let the REAL women discuss their topics.

I hate to tell you KC, but platinum is not cheap. Of yellow gold, white gold, and platinum... Yellow gold is the cheapest. So just knock off your stupid nonsense.

Perhaps it was silver, not platinum and you were too busy laughing to hear what he had to say. (Although to be honest I`m not so sure God made someone stupid enough to even think of proposing to someone like you). Platinum is the most expensive, and currently the most popular, of the commonly used metals.

I bet you like Black Hills Gold too......real classy. Go back to your trailer park and count your remaining teeth.

I have a 1 ct. Solitare tiffany sytle ring SI carity, D color, in yellow gold.

Hey it just so happens this is one of the most popular style rings right now (it seems that way). A close member of the family recently went and purchesed a similar ring recently. My fiance and I were thinking about exchanging this ring for something custom made as we just being petty or is it okay not to want the same ring as another fmily member?

Nodia, I say go for it! It isn`t petty wanting to wear something special. Maybe you can design something with the original diamond instead of exchanging the ring you were proposed to with....I think it would be fun to design your own ring. Again, go for it and congratulations!!
