I think that Royal blue or Navy blue is a perect color for your damas if your dress is white... It is perfectly alright.. Make a good choice :)

Thinks i think a i am going to go with royal blue

I saw your email and it made me chuckle a little bit. I am a Puerto Rican woman born and raised in the states, so I think I am considered a first generation. I grew up in a not so traditional puerto rican family. Now I have been married for almost 19 years to an Englishman/German descent man and we have our oldest daughter who will be 15 in October. I want to have a quience for our daughter and my beloved hubby is all for it. Our familes celebrate both our cultures and our traditions. Our daughter is very excited and said YES of course, then everyone will know and understand exactly where I come from. A very unique family. We are not having the "traditional quience". She only wants 3 of her very best friends and the escorts, she won`t be wearing the traditional white or pastel color quience dress, but opted for a beautiful strapless royal blue gown. Her attendants are wearing the dresses they feel most comfortable in (formal also) in whatever color they want, but not royal blue so that our daughter will stand out on her special day. We are having a christian ceremony at the hall , even our pastor will be officiating since this is something very new to everyone around too. We will serve puerto rican food and other yummy things. She will be wearing the crown and the tradtional dances. Even my mother will be teaching the court a very puerto rican island dance. WE are tailoring the ceremony to fit our families. I truely believe that is what is most important. Do what you feel comfortable in. Trust your judgements, be in agreement with your parents and enjoy the day. WE are so excited, we rented a beautiful hall overlooking a gorgeous site, since it will be in October, the trees will be in their most glorious color display. Now the real planning begins.
