Anyone Selling A Fur Trimmed Velvet Cape?
I am having a winter wedding in December 2004 and was going to buy a fur-trimmed (faux-fur is fine) velvet cape with a hood if possible. Is anyone selling one by chance? Or does anyone know where I can get one? I live in Atlantic Canada and would perfer to find something in this area.

Have you considered having one made for you? I had a Dec 2003 wedding and wanted a cape to wear. I looked high and low and couldn`t find one that I really liked (a lot of them looked cheap, but were quite pricey). I ended up hiring a seamstress to make the cape for me to my exact specifications. The cape turned out gorgeous!!!!!!!! It was lined in a soft white fur (almost like feathers, but it was fur -- it was called bunny fur) and the cape itself was backed in silver that mached my bridesmaid`s dresses and the outside was white. It was simply stunning and the talk of my reception. I highly recommend having one made specific for your wedding, you won`t be disappointed.
Good luck and best wishes.

Yeah, I was thinking that having one made was my best bet. At least I can have some control over the design. Yours sounds like it was beautiful, Kay.

Wendy, when/if you opt to have it made for you a good place to find a pattern is in the Halloween costume section at the fabric store (within the pattern section). Yes, it may sound strange, but many costumes include a cape. I first looked at some normal cape patterns but they didn`t do it for me -- I then found one for a Halloween costume that had three options for a cape design. My seamstress used some ideas from each pattern to design the cape.
Just a suggestion....
Good luck, you`ll look gorgeous at your winter wedding in a cape. There is something so magical about getting married in the winter.
