Handwrite Invite Addresses?

Should the addresses for the wedding invitations be handwritten? I was considering doing them on the computer (partly for my own sanity), but my mother seems to think that they should be handwritten. I feel that my printing is much better than my cursive, but I also think that hand-printed is less formal. Any input?
Thanks!

I am so glad someone else is having this same problem. I too have horrible cursive writing, and my printing, although neat is not anywhere formal enough. I decided to do the addresses on the computer so that it looks formal enough for my liking. I don`t think anyone will complain or notice. You can also buy stickers that come on a sheet that you can print in the computer so that you can do many addresses at one time saving you even more time instead of printing each envelope individually. Good luck in whatever you decide!

I think it is fine to do the outside envelope on the computer. The inner envelope should be done by hand. That is where you name the paople that are actually invited (Mr & Mrs Smith, Mr. John Smith and Guest or Mr. & Mrs. Smith and family). That will make it personal enough in my book. But that is just me.
All the best!!

Handwritten is considered better than typed. It seems more personal and that you put thought and time into sending the invite.

Handwritten is preferable. However if your handwriting sucks (like mine does) then you can either A) hire a calligrapher or B) print the envelopes. But under no circumstances should you ever use labels.

You can buy clear lables that you can print on and they look great. That is how we did all of our invites. We found a very pretty font and printed them on the clear labels so all you really saw was the name and address in a pretty font.
