My Grandparents Want A Funny Renewal

My grandparents are renewing their vows this weekend, and they want me to "be the officient." They say they want it to be funny. I can`t find any funny vows online. Do you have any ideas?

Take your standard wedding ceremony speech and print it out on paper twice. On the second copy, use liquid paper over all the phrases that are very lovey dovey or trite. Now you or someone will have to fill in the blanks mad-libs style. You can do this yourself or ask your grandparents a series of questions like : (1) Name something grandma/grandpa does that gets on your nerves, (2) What is your nicknames for grandma/grandpa, (3) What`s the nicest thing grandma/grandpa has ever done for you? Then fill in the blanks and read back something like: "Do you `honey-buns` (nickname) take `sugar-pie` (nickname) to be your lawful wedded wife?" or "Do you agree to take this person in sickness, health, `and even when he clips his toenails on the couch`?" Perform the funny one first, and then tell everyone you`re just kidding and then perform the standard one.

For the toasting at the reception, consider an old-fashioned "roast" like the Fryer`s Club only with cleaner language. Or you could have all their kids or grandkids tell them what memories they have so far with their grandparents that show how much they (the kids or grandkids) are loved. The final toast could be a congratulations and a group thank you. You could even print generic programs with the story of how they met.
