Denver_Unconventional Ideas
I`m getting married in Denver 12/31/04 and just don`t know where to hold the ceremony. It is not a religious wedding, and we want something very unique. We were originally thinking on top of a building downtown, but the parents aren`t thrilled. Anyone have any ideas to share?

How about a historic mansion in the area. Or a bed and breakfast.

Thanks for the suggestion. . . But I`m looking for something a bit more unconventional.

Hello, I also live in Denver and we were looking for some place to hold both the ceremony and reception that didn`t cost and arm and a leg. Through MUCH search on the web I found a beautiful cottage in Steamboat Springs. It`s called Bear Berry Cottage. We booked it for 2 days so we`d have time to set up without being rushed, the lady that owns it is moving out the living room furniture for us at no extra cost in order to hold the reception and have an outdoor ceremony, and they have caterers that will come in to handle the event. I know it`s a bit of a drive, but we thought it was totally worth it. It may not work since you are getting married in Dec, but thought I`d tell you about it anyway. If that doesn`t work for you, there are a lot of beautiful vacation homes that you can rent out and make a weekend event. Good Luck!!!!

Hold your ceremony and reception at a National park or a public park overlooking a lake or some wilderness for a breathtaking view that will require little decoration. These parks usually have indoor venues specifically for large events at reasonable prices. Also consider a historical landmark site for some unique ambiance.

What about the little chapel at Red Rocks?

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. . . My problem is so many limitations. . . The ceremony will be on New Year`s eve, so the park is out. I love the red rocks chapel-- that is on my list but we are really trying to stay away from chapels or churches of any kind being that the families are both "picky" about all of that-- so it is best to keep it out of any kind of place of worship to avoid conflict. And, the reception is downtown. . . So the mountains won`t work . . .Blah! I`m still looking. . .
