The possibilities are endless for centerpieces. Think practical, inexpensive, and pretty. My centerpieces are made from my favors-- flower pens I made myself. Take a pack of bic round stick pen and remove the cap, the ink barrel, and the stopper to create a hollow tube. Use wire cutters to clip off the head of a silk rose (or flower of your choice). Hot glue the head of the flower (and some leaves for greenery) to the back of the tube. Then wrap the tube with green floral tape to creat a stem. Clip 1/4 of an inch off the back of the ink barrel to make room for the hot glue. Re-insert the ink barrell and place the cap back on. Throw away the end stopper and you`re done. I`ve made several pens per table and will put them in vases I bought at the local dollar store. If you`re crafty, then try this out. Get a few friends to help you. Play music in the background and make an evening of it! Several pens tied together makes a pretty bouquet, and these even look lovely when you tuck one over your ear! Who can`t use a pen the next day??

Get a shallow glass bowl and fill it with water. Put marbles in the bottom and float a flower or two on top (stems cut off). I`ve seen it with hibiscus, gerber daisies, lillies, etc. It is way cheaper than having a whole arrangement and easy to do yourself.

Try Sam`s Wholesale. Their flowers are really cheap but nice. You can arrange them yourself in tall vases (I used plain glass).

Trudy what a cute idea. Might be even fun to do with kids for a camp project or the sorts...
