I would suggest a hat, since it is typical- but not required- at European weddings (particularly English). If you were to wear your hair in a low chignon or ponytail and bring along a modest summer sun-hat, you could easily opt either way. Gloves are the same way, either or. You can pick up a pair of basic white wrist gloves at most antique shops for under $15. Sun hats can be found at JC Penny or discount stores like Burlington Coat Factory, Steinmart and TJ Maxx. Whatever you wear, make sure you feel comfortable and like "you". Otherwise, self-consciousness will show.
