Seeking Unusual Wedding Dress.....

Can anyone help me? I`m planning my own wedding for January 16, 2005 and my fiance and myself are on a very strict budget. We just recently purchased our first home. I do not want a traditional white wedding dress. We are not traditional people at all and we aren`t even having a traditional ceremony. The wedding is in our home and I`ve written our vows. The colors of the wedding is purple and orange. I`m a plus size woman. So any suggestions or pictures or websites would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at kwsairbear329@aol.com

Thanks

Try shopping at Special Occasion dresses for your gown. They have lots of gowns for all occasions. Or try regular department stores if you don`t want a bridal gown. Some bridal stores though do have gowns that don`t look like the traditional bride gown. I know what you mean, I do not like a lot of the bridal gowns that are advertised. They are too frilly for my taste.

I didn`t want a traditional dress either so I went with a Lady Roi Bridal. Lady Roi has many non-traditional gowns. Many different colors (white&black, all blac, red, blue, multi color, etc.) and styles. They even make some of their wedding gowns out of jean material very non-traditional.

Have one made....take a look at patterns and fabrics and then make whatever changes you want . Find a seamtress to work with you. Or shop with a semtress and try on dresses and tell her how you want it changed.

I`m the same, plus size and not looking for foo-foo. I actually picked out a simple pattern from the costume section of a pattern book at the local fabric store. It happens to be easy enough for a very novice seamstress, no zippers or buttons, so I`m going to try to make it myself, first a trial run with some old sheets. If it works I`ll do it myself, if not, then I`ll turn to a seamstress, also this way you can shop for less expensive fabric choices,,,,,,best of luck!!!
