MUSICIAN NEEDED
Does anyone have any recommendations? I am having a small outdoor wedding - 40 guests. We have been able to keep all of our costs down except I have not been able to find some type of musician for the ceremony. I really wanted a harpist - but the cheapest one I can find is $300 ...and our ceremony is only going to be about 20 minutes long!!! Other ideas would be a violinist, bagpiper, even a fluetist but I haven`t been able to track any down that have reasonable rates. I have a younger sister who has a friend who can play flute - but we`de be talking High School student... What do you ladies think? Any ideas or thoughts as to how I can find someone who is inexpensive?

Maybe go to a local church and ask if the musicians have any recommendations a lot of times church musicians will do a ceremony outside of church and you may get a pianist and soloist for $150 ish

It is harder to get a harpist for cheaper because it is not easy to get the instrument in the car and set it up at your site. It is huge and heavy. You should be able to get a soloist in other instruments for less. Where are you located? I live in L.A., land of musicians (including myself) and you really shouldn`t have to pay more than100-150/h per person. Don`t expect them at the rehersal though.

My fiance plays the violin at weddings and I know he only charges $100 (that included going to the rehearsal dinner). He works at a music shop in our town and most people get his name through there. So if your town does have a music shop- they may have lots of good names! It never hurts to ask. Good luck!!!
