Special Readings At The Ceremony

Hi there, are you having special readings at your weddings? Such as scripture or poems etc? Our pastor gave us a list of scripture passages, one is nice, but the others are very...I`m not really sure how to say this without offending anyone, but they`re really preachy. I have no problem with them being spiritual, but I don`t want a church lesson at the actual wedding. Does anybody have a suggestions as to what passages would be nice or poems that we could use??? Thanks

Church sermons at weddings are a huge bore.

I did have a special (short) poem read at my wedding - everyone loved it.

Since my FH and I are, I guess you can say, a little morbid and not totally into tradition, Edgar Allen Poe has a love poem that we like so we are going to have that read. And also put onto our programs
