Reception Wording, Pay Bar
I am looking for a way to inform my guests that I will be having a pay bar ($1.50/drink) to recoup some of the expenses as we are on a very tight budget.

Although I`m not in favor of a cash bar, if you are going to do one there is no need to let your guests know ahead of time that they will be paying for their drinks. Simply have the available drink list posted along with the price of the drink.
I hope you are at least serving free beer and soda?

In Canada it is not uncommon for a pay bar at weddings.In fact it is becoming the norm. Our cost is much higher here, also our laws are different. I agree, it would help cut down on abuse and waste, as many unfinished drinks are dumped at the end of the night if people get them free.
