Bad Wedding Florist

Having had the experience I had no one should ever
Pay the florist before the wedding! Most florists
Want their money three weeks before the wedding.
So much is riding on the performance of the florist.
In my case, the florist I hired sent someone else
With the wrong color flowers at the last minute. My
Florist, The Willow (Northport, AL) agreed to refund me
Half my money after the wedding pleading that I not sue
Or give her bad publicity. Almost a year later no refund,
And I waited about four months for the Better Business Bureau to get her response to my complaint. The Better Business Bureau had told me she must respond within 15 days. She didn`t and they took no
Punitive action. I finally told the BBB that I had no
Interest in their pursuing a resolution. They closed the
File and then posted a report making it appear that I
Was unwilling to work with them. However, as I told them they had not been able to get a response for all that time and my time to file for civil action had almost
Run. I felt that the florist was stalling just so I would
Miss the deadline for civil action. If the florist had decorated as scheduled and I had seen the work in
Advance I have no doubt that I would have gone and
Bought fresh flowers myself and redone the whole mess. Wedding photo`s with no flowers, that`s what you get if you pay in advance.

Wedding florists are well known for substituting different types of flowers, or different colors of flowers, without telling you in advance. And hoping you will not notice. My advice is, before hiring a florist, check them out with the Better Business Bureau and find out if any complaints have been made about their business. Ask them in advance if they plan to make substitutions, and tell them it will be unacceptable to change the colors. If they don`t agree to this, then do not hire them. My friend had a florist who put red instead of pink flowers in all the bouquets and it clashed really bad with her wedding colors. The florist acted like it was no big deal as long as she got some flowers, why should it matter if they were the wrong color.
