We Want A Religious Ceremony... With No Relig

My fiance and I are from different religions. We believe in God and want a religious ceremony in which we can make our vows and be blessed by God. We need somebody to conduct the ceremony but no idea which religion could marry us without belonging to it.

I`m going through the same thing. My fiance and I are from two different religions and we chose my uncle who is from a third religion to marry us.My religion would have had us go through conceling for 6 to 9 months, and his ,we just chose not to go through.so we ended up with a christian to marry us.there is only one GOD and i believe it does`nt matter which you choose.I hope this helps.Just talk to your fiance about it.good luck.

Try looking for a Unitarian Universalist church in your area. They believe in one god but also believe that all religions and beliefs have something good to offer, so they are open to anyone with any beliefs. I believe they are mostly christians who take teachings from many different religions such as judaism, buddhism, etc. I don`t know their standing on weddings, but I would imagine that they are very open since that is the basis of the church. Good luck.

Ingrid,
We are having an Evangelical Lutheran pastor marry us. Both of us come from different religious backgrounds, but both still wanted our marriage to be blessed by God. Maybe check out an Evangelical Lutheran church around you.
