Maid Of Honor (Brother)

Does anyone have any input with having a brother be a maid of honor? Last minute, my best friend decided she didn`t want to be a part of the wedding. My brother means more than the other brides maids, they all are great friends, but not like my best friend or my brother. I don`t have any sisters, or close cousins, and my fiance doesn`t have any sisters. Any input?

I think that is a great idea, your brother would be honored. You can have whom ever you want as your maid of honor..........male or female. Good luck and congrats.

Go For it!!

I`ve seen men as brides maids and women as best man..... Just cause your brother will be a maid of honor (so to speak) doesn`t mean he has to wear a dress or she`d have to wear a tux. Remember it is your day.... Whatever you want is what you will get, good luck everything will be wonderful

Yeah, why not? You can definitely have your brother do the honor. But just don`t call him a maid!!! Put him in a tux and call him the Man of Honor.

Yes, you most certainly can have your brother stand up for you! But, he wouldn`t be called your maid of homor. When someone stands up for someone of the opposite sex, they are called teh `Best Person". So, it is perfectly acceptible to have your brother stand up for you! After all, it`s your wedding. Shouldn`t you have who YOU want up there with you, not who everyone else wants?
