I`m not sure what you were thinking about for favors, but if you have a Dollar General store or Dollar Tree in your area, they have lots of cute things that would work as centerpieces. Also try Michaels or MJ Designs.

Consider using the cheap 6" galvanized buckets from one of the major home stores. You can then stuff them with dirt and "plant" flowers from your local greenhouse. In September, there will be plenty of foliage and flowers that will be beautiful.
Then simply wrap your buckets in ribbon that compliment your chosen theme color(s). If you get really fancy shmancy, choose flowers that are your theme color(s).
Good Luck!

If you are going to have party favors, just make them your centerpieces. For example: For you favors put little chocoloate candies in a box with a ribbon around it. Stack # of boxes to make a shape of some sort and tie ribbons at the top so that the ribbons are streaming down. Then place votive candles around the "centerpiece" At the end of the reception the guests at that table will just pick their favor from the centerpiece. I hope I explained this well...=)

My wedding is also mid September and my colors are also navy and silver and what I am doing for centerpieces is I got those ivy bowles and some battery powered lights from Michaels and put the lights in the bowles and the battery pack on top and fill it with navy poupouri (sp?) and then put a little more poupouri on top to cover the battery pack and not only is it inexpensive and pretty but it smells good also. Let me know if you have any other questions. Especially since we are the same month and same colors.

We are using cakes in different flavors (that match the big cake) for center pieces on each table. This sound crazy but you can have wal mart make small cakes in your colors for about 3 bucks a piece serves about 8 people, and they turn out really pretty!

Meghan,
I love that idea!!!!! and only 3 dollars for 8 ppl...thats really good considering that usually 8-10 people sit at a table and there will be people who will not eat anyways....
Which walmart does this?
Thanks

I`d try Super Wal Mart in the bakery section for the small cakes

Re:Walmart Center Piece Cakes
I think this is a corp walmart thing I am getting married in Illinois and both walmarts in my hometown do it there, yet the walmart here in Texas has helped with alot of the ideas in preparing them, they will be in all different flavors/filling/etc and they look really pretty! You can also, just get plain white ones if you want and go to an actual bakery and get the flower decorations that you want, such as flowers/shells etc (I found about $6/doz), but I am impressed by what they are doing alone!
