Tattoo Cover-Up

I am thinking of wearing a strapless dress for my upcoming September wedding. The only problem is that I have tattoos on both shoulders and don`t really want my tattoos to show up in photographs. I have seen tattoo cover-up kits advertised in bridal magazines and on the internet, but I`m a little concerned about their performance. Most specifically, I am afraid that they will fade or smear. The last thing I need is to be smearing concealer all over my future husband and guests!
Does anyone out there have any experience with these types of products? If so could you give them a review?
Thanks

I am also getting married in July and have a tattoo of a floral tribal band on my upper arm. I totally agree with everyone else when they say that they do love their tats but do not feel that they are appropriate for the most special day of your life. I have a very elegant dress and want to cover my tat up. Very confused though....do not know which one to go for!!!!!

I too am in the same boat. I`m wondering if anyone has tried the cover kits? I am going to buy one to practice with before my wedding. I`ll let you know how they work out. Hopefully it won`t be a big waste of money.

Hi guys,
I`m in the same situation and I have been told the kits work great, I think derma-blend is the brand I was advised to use. Anyway they shouldn`t smudge or smeer at all, you actually need to use soap to get it off so shouldn`t have any problem even if you perspire a bit. Let me know how the test run goes.

I think that derma-blend is the one to go for. Alot of people swear by it . I have been on other sites and they all say the same.

I too had the same problem with tattoos. I bought the small kit from Covermark. It worked great on my arms but not so good on other areas. It comes with a clear base, the covering makeup and a powder to set it and it didn`t come off or smear at all. But anywhere your skin is dry or creased (i.e. Hands, feet, ankles or wrist) it totally shows in the creases.

Hi,

I bought the stuff from David`s Bridal and it worked great. It took some time and patience because you have to do small layers and let each one dry, but you couldn`t even tell! It definitely lasted all day, plus most of the next day. I had to have my husband scrub it off of my back because it didn`t wach off too easily!

I have a large tattoo on my back that takes up pretty much the entire left side of my back.

I was in a wedding last month and I used Derma-Blend Leg & Body to cover it up.

I recommend this product but I do recommend that you really spend time testing out the different colors at the store to find the right color. Also, I would only recommend this if it`s for a SMALL tattoo

Unfortunately in my situation, my friend and I really rushed to cover up my tattoo. My dress had spaghetti straps and after 10 hours, some of the makeup had rubbed off onto the strap but it wasn`t bad. My tattoo was covered up pretty well. My mom said she couldn`t notice until she really examined it. I guess it also helped that I wore my hair down and it`s really long and curly so it was able to cover up a good portion of it.

The other thing I noticed was since my tattoo is kind of bumpy from all the details and stuff, you could still kind of see it.

Someone told me to try liquid latex because that`s what they do in the movies.

All in all:

MAKE SURE TO GET THE RIGHT SHADES for your skin color
SET ASIDE ENOUGH TIME TO REALLY COVER IT UP because it will really make a difference
SETTING POWDER is very important
