Moms 50th Birthday. Dad Is Without Job!

In a couple weeks it is my mom`s 50th birthday. I want to do something really special for her, but my dad lost his job last week, so we have very little money to spend on this. She`s not really into parties or scrapbooks. I was thinking so far of cooking her a really special low-carb meal (so as to not ruin her diet TOO much!), but i have little in the way of any other ideas. PLEASE HELP!!!
