Help--Reception Sites

Help..........I am getting married at a church in Englewood and I am having trouble finding a reception site. Does anyone know of a good site close to Englewood that seats 250+. Also, does anyone know how far is too far to ask guests to drive. Thanks for anyone`s help.

I don`t know about Englewood. Lots of places can be a reception site: hotels, restaurants, zoos, museums, houses, etc.

Found this to answer our question

Distance Between Ceremony and Reception

Dear Martha,

My reception site is thirty minutes from the church. Is that too far?

Your site is just within the appropriate distance-it’s best if the reception is not more that a half hour away from the ceremony. You’ll want guests to get to the reception before the good spirits of the ceremony dissipate, so having both in the same spot-a hotel or club, for example-is convenient.

Couples who plan to marry in a church or synagogue, however, may find that the chosen reception site is a bit of a drive away. Be sure, in this case, to provide good directions. You might even ask a few dependable friends to drive the route ahead of time, so they can help direct people on the day of the wedding.

In the event that you cannot schedule the reception to start shortly after the ceremony, provide guests with ideas for activities to do-visiting a local monument, for instance-in the interim.
