David`s Bridal
My experience working at David`s Bridal is that we make mistakes like everyone else. But there are some customers that expect everything how they wanted, when they don`t do this the right way. When you go to the store we tell you how long the dresses take to get to you. You can ask for the price of the alteration before buying the dress, and it is your decision to buy, nobody is taking the money out of you.
I want to ask a question, If your service was so bad, why buy there?, I don`t understand. When the customer goes into the store we explain the discontinued issue, and what`s the answer, they won`t discontinued the dress i want. Then they do and the customer gets angry. When you pay the regular price of a dress you have the privilage to get it the size you want, and into the colors that comes the one you need, if is discontinued is logical that you can`t especial order it, so don`t complain about what you paid if at that moment you got privilage that others don`t have after. This is a matter of seeing the two sizes. And last but not least, the brides comes to the store, I go up to them to serve them and the first thing they said, I am just looking, then they expect a special service, you go to Kmart to look no to DB. Please people be reasonable, there are thousands of brides if we were to handle each one like princes we will be charging you like expensive boutike. Because the first thing you want when you go to the stores are the dresses that are special sale. Sorry to say all this, but some of you have the reason to be hangry because like a said at the begining who dosen`t make mistakes but people there some of you that are too much...Like you are hangry with DB, some of get hangry with some rude unpolite customers. That`s why I`am saying all this, and you think is fair to judge all of the same way. (No)
Some of you are great and some of you go treating us like we were your slaves.
Good luck where ever you go....

My Fianance went with her bridal party on a sunday and purchased gowns on Sunday Nite. The Sales rep basicly said we are closing so either buy them now or leave. Because of a personnel problem, One of the bridsemaid had to drop out and wanted to return the dress the very next day. They were told point blank NO. We were planning on Buy or Wedding nvtitions there but after this I think we will pass. This is suppose to be a happy and fun day for all but David Bridal just made trhe bridal party get all upset every time theyu look at the gowns they get UPSET THANK YOU DAVIDS

Regarding the post above that had the bad experience.... Question for you regarding the bridesmaid who tried to return her dress the next day.. I purchased my dress for my up comming wedding at davids, but decided not to get the brides maids dresses there... The reason for this decision was the fact that we were told when buying my dress that there are absolutely no exchanges or refunds "all sales are final". My girls were conflicted about what they wanted at the time and we decided that it was better for them to order from a place that allowed returns or at least exchanges. When it is stated and restated in numerous places around the store (and on the sales reciepts) that all sales are final, why would you expect them to make an allowance for you? Perhaps your brides maids made some poor decision about being in the bridal party ad that is unfortunate... But it is not beccause of the store that they were standing in or the consultant that was assisting them.... To say that it was would be to say that this place and individual can control you and are therefor responsible for your actions. If they were being pressured they should have just left. Of course, this is all just my take on things and you don`t have to like it or agree with it. Hope the rest of your planning is less stressful :(

David`s Bridal is basically a discount bridal store. You can get a $1200 dollar gown there for about $600. So its not realistic to expect to be treated like "a princess". If you want to be treated like royalty, go to some of the higher-end bridal boutiques, and buy a Vera Wang gown instead. I`m sorry, but that is just the way it is in the retail world.

Yes... I can agree with the being treated like a princess thing happening more at a higher end boutique. However, in defence of the David`s Bridal at HarMar mall in Minniapolis and the staff there I have to say that my shopping experience was nothing short of wonderful. I was there for a total of 6 hours on a saturday and I had a consultant that stayed with me through the entire time to help me even though she was also helping two others at the same time. She was wonderful!!.. Infact, she acted more like a friend then a hired helper right down to JOINING IN with me in a happy bouncing up and down chorus of `I FOUND MY DRESS`. Thank you to davids bridal at HarMar mall!! sorry to hear that all of you haven`t had as wonderful an experience as i did :(

Just a response to Stacy
No -- We were not told by the wedding consultant NO refunds / returns allowed but it was posted by the cash register. It was not noticed till after we returned.
All reputable Store allows for some type of returns.
Why is there so many post like this about Davids.
I read in another posting from A david employee tring to defend themselfs and thier store that 80% of the people there say the got goood service. Which means that 20% didn`t get good service.
SO DAVID BRIDAL RUINS 1 in 5 Weddings
Think about that stacy as you take your huge commisions to the bank. IS it worth it to you.

Hmm... Its too bad they didn`t tell you... That is a mistake on the consultants part. Why is there so many post like this about Davids? Well... Bad news usually travels more than good news. One of my former employers (an inn owner) always used to tell us that a person having a bad experience will tell 10 people, but a person having a good experience may tell 1 person.
I cant really comment on the stats thing except to say that there is usally some part of the wedding planning process that gets messy in every wedding.... Infact there are usually multiple things that go wrong.... Whether you let the mistakes ruin your wedding is really up to you.... As i said before: i`m sorry to hear that you had a bad experience.. I guess your one of the 20% which i`m sure really sucks. I guess i got luck and was one of the 80%.
As for your comment about... "Think about that stacy as you take your huge commisions to the bank. IS it worth it to you."... I`m not quite sure what you mean by this seeings how i`m just a student who happens to be getting married in August and have nothing to do with davids except for one 6 hour shopping trip down to the US ... I`m from Canada where there are no david`s bridals. Did you think that i worked there or something?... Good luck with future planning... I sincerely hope it`s less stressful and that your wedding day hasn`t been completely ruined.
