We just had one 2 weeks ago and had a BLAST! My matron of honor put it all together and did a super job. We had it at a local bar and grill here in town. We had appitizers that they served there. She had door prizes, games etc.. She had a card box and even a money tree. One of the neat things she did was in order to enter for the drawing they had to write their names and addresses on an envelope. These envelopes turned out to be my thank you card envelopes so I did not have to address any of them, all I had to do was write out my thank you cards!

Could you tell me some of the door prizes and games so i can get some good ideas? Thanks.
My MOH hasn`t done nothing yet. She kept hounding me to set a day for the party and i did well over a month ago and all she keeps saying is gotta find a place to have it. I gave her the numbers of everyone so they can help but she hasn`t bothered to call anyone. Party is april 24, she needs to get the invites out, doesn`t she, Its march 1st? Well anyway, thank you for responding.

This may sound like a dumb question, but what is a Jack N Jill party? Just wondering, sounds fun! Thanks!

Carri,
Not a dumb question at all. Instead of the bride and groom having seperate parties they have a
Jack n Jill party. They celebrate and party together. Which is what we are doing. But after the party we are going to have a guys and girls night out. :o)

Hey Melissa!
Yes I would say she better hurry up as her time is ticking away. If her home was big enough she could even do it there. Maybe make it a barbque thing. I dunno what you are into though. My MOH sent out the invitations about 3 weeks prior to the shower. We did not get any gifts (well a couple of gag gifts ;) ) We did get alot of cash which was great but, not needed my thing was my closests friends where there to share with me this speical time. Some of the prizes were a bottle of wine some grocery store coupon books, those entertainment books (the ones with all those great coupons in them) and gift cert. To local resteraunts. She got some games from the internet. One was the mating game. You had to match the different animals to the mates. She also did a wedding madlib. Which is where you fill in blanks to the story not knowing the story and when you read it back it is HALARIOUS! We all had a ball. I think thats the most important thing. Search the internet and you can find all kinds of shower games. Actually the MOH should be doing the searching but, sounds like she may need a little bit of "prodding".... ;)
Good Luck!

I like the madlib idea. :o)
Just not sure what goes in it. Is it just a story of the bride and groom?
Thanks

Hi Mel,
I am sure she got it off the net. It was titled Michele & Tony`s Wedding Plans. A mad lib is a story that the people at the shower fill in the blanks to the story. The story is mostly complete but, blanks are left in and under the blanks it will tell you for example a piece of clothing, or name a color, or a number and they give you anything that pops in their head and in the end it makes a very funny story. For example part of my story was that we are going to have a watermelon (kind of fruit) cake with tuna (kind of food) frosting. LOL...Are you getting the drift of the story now? It is hard to explain if you want I can email you my story. Let me know.
Hoppy Day!
