Madrina

I was asked to be "madrina" for my niece`s wedding. I would love to what does the "madrina" have to do? What is a Madrina?

Thanks for your help.

Depends...
If you are catholic, it means that you are a "coach", "mentor" , "counselor"...
Nowdays is just another word for a sponsor of some sort....
Ideally in a strongly bonded family, the madrina will help with some of the arrangements, or pay for some one elses services.
The term madrina stands for "godmother".
It is your prompt responsibility to see that your niece acts and behaves as a good wife. (madrina de boda)

For more info you should quest on the catholic channels. Hope this was of some help.
