Who Pays?

I am American, but my boyfriend comes from Mexico. We want to get married, and I am confused on who is to pay for the wedding. His family has said in the past if we get married they`ll pay for this and that...but what? I assumed that it was going to be the way my mom and dad did it, her parents paid. Which one is it? Do I assume they are wanting to pay for it?

You need to consult an etiquette book. Usually the bride`s family pays most of the wedding costs. The groom or his family can pitch in. Groom usually pays for the minister fee, the bride`s bouquet, and the rehearsal dinner.
