Dance Floor
Is there some way that I can "section out" the dance floor....My reception hall is set up in a " U " shape which kind of gives the impression of a dance floor.....but the dance floor is only 12x14 any suggestions

I`m not sure if this would work for you but I`m using 4
8-10` columns to section off a dance floor. I`ll set them up to form a rectangle and drape tulle and lights from column to column.
Hope this helps

What a GREAT idea....Thanks......I actually read somewhere on the message boards an awesome idea about making columns from empty carpet rolls, they`re sturdy enough and round.....I love that idea.....much appreciated.....

I saw that post too. I was going to purchase or rent columns but making them seems easy enough.

How many guests will be at your wedding? A 12 x 14 dance floor will hold 4 - 5 couples at a time and more for slow dances. Though this may not seem like a lot, a packed dance floor is often more fun to be on then a big, half-empty one. It`s more lively and social. Everyone dancing close to each other will also look better in pictures.
The carpet roll column idea actually sounds like a possible disaster to me. If they will be pretty enough to hide the fact that they`re carpet rolls, someone might lean on one thinking it`s a more sturdy, rented piece. I doubt they would support anyone`s weight. If they aren`t that good looking, you probably don`t want them there anyway.
Draping fabric or hanging decorations from the ceiling around the perimeter would define the space of a larger dance floor.
