Re: What Is Necessary. Laura

Hi,
I have a suggestion about the cake. I have seen postings on here from other girls that have fake cakes. They can be made (from a store, I think) or you can make them yourself (if your crafty, which Im not). Anyway and then it looks like you have a wedding cake. So what they did is had a fake cake, and then bought a large in-expensive one from a bakery or grocrey store and had it pre-cut for the guests. This way they still have the cake, but it saves money too.
I am having a problem with our budget and a photographer, I work with a professional photographer (he does great work) so of course I went to him first to see what his rates are, he was charging $2500. So now I have decied that we are just going to use our digital camera, my aunt has a photographers camera (but is not a photographer) and just have people take the best shots they can possibly get.
Also, no you are not obligated to give your guests a present.

I`ve heard about this fake cake idea, and it might be worth exploring, so thank you. I still think I want to get a different tasty desert. My fiance and I were joking that we should get the tiramisu and use some icing on the top to write "wedding cake", though I think that some attending wouldn`t get the joke ;)
Anyway, thanks for the advice. We are torn between hiring a student, and just getting digital photos done. Anyway, thanks again!

That is not a bad idea at all. I have been married before and my aunts pictures turned out just as well as my photographers so I am having her do them. I have been a photographer at weddings as well. Just maker sure there is plenty of lighting and you will be fine. Find a family member with a nice camera to do some posed pictures. I am really excited about the idea of the cake. I can make cakes so to make one myself before my wedding and save it would be no problem it is making a fresh one right before that would be a problem. Thank you for your advice
