I Just Wanted To Get Some Opinions
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to get some opinions on my dress. We are having a very small wedding (35 guests). It is my third and my f/h`s second. We are having a rather casual reception at his daughter`s house following the ceremony.
I just wanted to see what some others think as not to many people have seen my dress.
You will have to copy and paste to view it.
Thanks in advance.

What color are you going to wear? The dress is very pretty.

Sandy personally I don`t like it, I don`t know you, but since this is your 3th, why don`t you try something less bridal, and go for something a lot more elegant thar you can use again, Elisabeth Fillmore has really elgant ones, that are bridal, but a lot more elegant, and you can were it again... Good luck anyway with any dress you choose to were.... But go a head with white or Ivory, my mother used a veil on her fourth.... So I belive what ever makes you happier.... Love, Renata

Sorry, I`m not crazy about it either for your third wedding and his second. I think it would be much more appropriate to go with a really gorgeous champagne suit. Maybe even a suit with some lace on the hem or the lapels or on the camisole underneath that would show on your decalature (sp?) You can even do a short veil with that if you wanted to, to make it a little more wedding-ish. It will also fit in with your more casual reception.
I think the dress you picked is pretty, but it`s very young looking, more for a first time young bride, or bridesmaid or even a prom. Everyone is going to tell you to where what you want though, and of course it`s up to you. I`m only giving my honest opinion here because, well, you did ask.

Thanks for your opinions, but I have already purchased the dress. I do like it and maybe because I have never really worn a purchased wedding gown ( my mother made my first one and my second was a JP wedding with a street dress), I want to really look like a bride.I am not doing a veil.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

It is very lovely. My bridesmaids are in champagne as well in a very similar dress. You`ll look radiant no matter what you wear, and I think this will be beautiful, 3rd wedding or not!

I think that dress is absolutely perfect for the occasion. It`s simple and elegant. Most people when they first get married go for the fancy, showy, over the top dress and when they remarry go for something a little more simple and refined. I think that every marriage deserves to start with a special day and that you chose a perfect dress that does just that--it makes it special, while staying what many deem "appropriate" for the circumstances. Personally I think many people are still stuck back in time with their opinion of what is appropriate for 2nd, 3rd, etc. Weddings. Unfortunately we`ve now reached by some accords the 60% mark for marriages ending in divorce. Sometimes it takes a few tries to end up with the right one, but when you do you should get just as special a day as your first try. I wish you the best and enjoy your special day.

Very lovely. I think this is the perfect informal dress. Are you going to wear the gloves? I adore them!

Thank you everyone for your opinions. I am not doing the gloves as we are getting married on June 26th and I felt it would be to hot. I do like the look but I am not a glove type pf girl.
I did want a special dress for our wedding and I think I stayed simple enough., but elegant.
Thanks again

I think the dress is really lovely. Elegant, simple lines, understated, beautiful.
I`d also like to add just because it`s your second or third time, this does not mean that you can`t have a "big deal" wedding - because I think you can. (The etiquette books say so too.)

Sandie-
The thing about weddings - everyone has an opinion and it will never be your own. My best friend is getting married in Oct. And recently bought an ivory dress...first wedding...her family wanted her to wear white. Without intentionally meaning too, they incredibly hurt her feelings! Whether it`s your first or fiftieth wedding, the key word is that it is YOUR day and above everything else you can wear exactly what you want. My mother stopped picking out clothes for me when I hit high school and I`ve been doing a fine job for myself ever since. Your dress choice is gorgeous! And who cares if you never wear it again? On your wedding day you should wear whatever makes you feel most beautiful - enjoy your day and your dress!
Much love and best wishes!
