I Need Help With Serving Sizes For Food?

We are having an appetizer wedding. This is our menu..

Meat tray with croissants
Pasta Salad
Meatballs
Veggie Tray/Dip
Shrimp
Franks in sauce

I don`t know how much to order? How many pounds of meat? Is 5 meatballs and 10 shrimp per person enough? What about veggies? How many pounds of veggies should I order? Help!

I too am having the same problem, with a wedding that we are "catering" ourselves in November but, I might have a solution. I have a cousin that works for the local grocery store and he told me to contact the "deli" department and just start asking questions. They were really friendly. I didn`t tell them I was doing it myself I just said If I invite 75-100 guests how many meatballs am I gonna need, etc. Try this. Hope it works.

There is a book out titled How to Cater Your Own Wedding. They offer some very specific suggestions about how to plan the amount of food for your guests. Might be worth a look!

I`ve heard of that book, it`s $9.99 at Walmart.com. Do you have the book? I`ve been hesitant to purchase just because I don`t want just a bunch of receipes. I already kinda know what food I`ll be serving just don`t have the "talent" to display it nicely and keep it fresh....
