Hyacinth Boquet

Has anyone seen hyacinths used for a boquet? My florist said it was pretty to have several hyacinths tied together, very simple but "stunning" any opinions?? (I wanted tulips but she said they may wilt)

I am using hyacinths as my wedding flower. They are very fragrant.

Why not just go silk flowers and they can be preserved and cheaper!

Not everyone likes silk flowers. They have no beautiful fragrance, like real flowers do. Hyacinths are highly fragrant, that is what makes them so nice.

Hyacinths have pretty thick stems, so they should be sturdy. They are beautiful flowers, and as others have mentioned, very fragrant. I love them and think they will make a stunning bridal bouquet.

I would go with the tulips. Hyacinths are beautiful, but if you want tulips, go for tulips. Chances are the tulips probably won`t wilt in the 2 hours you are at the wedding and having pics done. You could then have your florist do you up a tossing bouquet of something else for at the reception to throw (other than this one moment at the reception, you really won`t be holding your bouquet after your pics). I say, go with what you want, not what anyone else wants.

Tulips do NOT do well in bouquets. They bob around, or droop in the bouquet. The florist has to use special wire to get them to not droop. Otherwise they just wind up looking awful.
