50th Wedding Anniversary HELP!

My siblings and I are trying to put together a memorable 50th Anniversary Party for our Mom and Dad. We want it to be special, only we don,t have a lot of money to spend. We,ve reserved a covered area at our local park which is beautiful. We`d like to have a 50`s theme. We`re expecting approximately 50-75 people. The event date is set for June 26th,2004. My mind is boggled! where do I start??

I am in the same situation right now. My inlaws 50th is in April. I am thinking of doing it at my house and having the food semi catered. If you have an outside location, I would reccommend having barbecue catered. It is pretty reasonable to have someone do that for you.

We had a 50th Wedding Anniversary for my in-laws 3 years ago and had a great time. My sister-in-law sent a letter to friends and family members asking them to submit in writing their favorite memories of the couple and asked if they had pictures that they would like to share (asking them to note if they wanted the originals back). Once she received the responses back, she created a scrapbook of memories. This gave my brother-in-law information, that we didn`t know, to use in his toast. I had the task of creating the invitations on the computer and also created place cards and small favor gift bags for each person. If you would like further information please e-mail me. (I am now in the process of getting ideas myself for my parents 50th. But I still have 2 years to plan it.)

USING THE 50`S THEME MEANS CASUAL. ENCOURAGE GUEST TO WEAR 50`S ATTIRE. I`M HAVING TWO CAKES, ONE WITH WEDDING PICTURE AND ONE WITH PRESENT PICTURE ON RICE PAPER INTO FROSTING. HAVE A HULA HOOP CONTEST, ALSO HAVING A 50`S TRIVIA QUIZ WITH 50`S CANDIES AS PRIZES. CRACKERBARREL HAS GOOD SELECTION OF 50`S CANDY. PLAY 50`S MUSIC AND DO THE "STROLL"

Allow me to address your invitations in calligraphy. Or maybe write out your wedding vows - or what about place cards for that formal dinner reception???

Over 15 years experience. Come to my website and check out my samples. I would love to hear from you!
I will ship anywhere in the U.S.

My husband`s parents just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and I did a poem for them in calligraphy about being married for 50 years. We framed it and it was the PERFECT gift!!!
