I Will Never Buy A Dress At David`s Bridal

I was shopping at a David`s Bridal on 10/25/03 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The wedding consultant (Jennifer) assigned to help me select and try on a wedding dress was rude and completely unprofessional. She insulted me and said that "dresses in plus sizes are hard to find." In additon, I was trying on a dress that was my size in wedding dresses, but she meagerly attempted to help me and said that "this dress is not going to fit you." The area outside of the fitting rooms was a disaster and I almost tripped on a tiera. When I tried to go over to a debris-free area with three way mirrors to get a full view of my dress, she told me that there wasn`t any room over there to look at dresses. I was completely insulted and unsatisfied by my visit to this store!

I had a wonderful experiance with David`s Bridal in Astoria, Ny I went there this past saturday to look for a wedding gown, The conslutent I had was a dream, she was very helpful and got my the dresses in the correct size, we put half down, now we just need to get through the alterations.

I too had a horrible experience at David`s. It was like a cattle call in that place. Way too many people to give that one on one attention that is needed. I was on my second dress when the tag got caught in the zipper. Bottom line is that I sat in that dressing room (it was very hot too, because of the big dress) for twenty minutes waiting on the girl to help me. She was too busy with the other girl she was helping. My friends finally got the manager who in turn had to get a seamstress to cut the zipper off of that $1300.00 dress.

I never thought (before I got engaged) that I would go to David`s Bridal for my gown.. But I went there, found the perfect dress for $900.. It fits perfectly.. And the customer service was outstanding. I am sorry to hear other people haven`t had positive experiences, I just wonder if it was the particular store you went to-- could be something as simple as poor management at that ONE store.

During this exciting time of finding and planning the most perfect wedding I have chosen to NOT go to David`s Bridal for a dress. Here is why: A gal I work with is, too, engaged and brought in a book of gowns from David`s Bridal. I leafed through (what bride to be wouldn`t?) and found a couple gowns I thought were beautiful! The next weekend NOT knowing you MUST have an apt. To look at dresses I walked into David`s and was rudely told I could not look or try on dresses without an appointment! WHAT? I feel this practice is ridiculous and I refuse to deal with a company with such a policy......I had driven a hour just to get disappointed. Not a good first "dress shopping" experience. Good Luck to you who try it.......

I guess i lucked out each time i went if that is their policy. Both times i went to look and try on dresses i just filled out papers and i was on my way to finding my dress. Which i did find with the loving help my of my m.o.h. Im sorry so many people had a bad experience with Davids. The only complaint i have is the PRICES, outrageously over priced, and alterations are not included when buying your dress.
