Best Method Of BC After Fibroid Removal

Hi I just had a laparotomy to remove 2 large fibroids that were about 4inches each. I had my first period after the surgery and it was painful and the flow quite heavy/ I am seriously considering deprovera to just stop my period. I dont want to chance all those side effects though. Can someone help me who has had similar experiences or at least some medical advice.

Go to your physician and voice your concerns. I don`t know how long ago your surgery was, but bleeding would be considered a normal side effect. If it is extremely heavy though or dark in colour or clotted, it could indicate a further problem. Talk to your doc and he/she will help you to find a solution that is right for you.

Thanks sarah. My surgery was just 5 weeks ago actually. I just need to decide on a good method of Birth control. The worst of it is over. Ididnt have any clotting just heavy flowing and pain!!!. But thanks for your reply.
