Star Wars Themed Reception

Aaahhhh!!!
I am so excited about your Star Wars reception! And i`m not even going to be there! My FH and I am big big big big fans of Star Wars and we thought about doing this too, but family said that they wouldn`t help with the wedding at all if we did and we cann`t afford to do it all on our own so....but anyways as for ideas

1)Theme Tables Each table be devoted to a character like a Han Solo table or C-3PO table etc…

2) As for centerpieces toys-r-us can be your best friend. But if your not into toys on your tables try lightening or plasma balls that run by batteries.

3) For favors wow you have lots of choices! Star Wars Pez, Action Figures, Star Wars soundtracks, or depending on when you are getting married a dvd of the one SW movies (the dvd of the orginal 3 films are coming out in sept. In a box set buy one set you’ve got 3 favors)

4) Add a touch of the Star Wars Galaxies to your menu as well you could make the menu like a hollywood menu. Man dishes after Characters or Planets (examples these are taken straight from the star wars cookbooks, yes they are real cookbooks lol : Jedi Juice, Obi-Won-Kebabs, Yoda soda, Wampa Snow Cones, Chewie Wookiee Cookies, Planet Core`s Opee Sea Killer Fajitas, Hoth Chocolate, Rancor Snacks, Princess Leia Danish Dos, Twin Sun Toast, Tusken Raider Taters, Sandtrooper Sandies, Boba Fett-uccine, C-3PO Pancakes for a brunch, Bossk Brownies, Jabba Jiggle or lime green jello, Dark Side Salsa Greedo Burritos, Han Burgers, Crazy Cantina Chili, TIE Fighter Ties for meals that include bow tie pasta, Oola-la French Toast or french fries) Or if you have a Star Wars Galaxies account you can login and just to the the cantina the bartender will have a full list of exotic drinks and food that would really be found in the SWG.

5) As for decorations….go to stumpsprom.com or shindigz.com they sell bolts of gossamer with star prints along with all kinds of colors, but star gossamer with twinkle lights draped behind them would look like the night sky. They also carry lots of star printed decorations that could be useful to you. Also you could just use star wars posters or lifesize cutouts to decorate with.

6) I don’t know if you are going to have childern at your reception but a kids table maybe nice. Go to your local party supply store and get star wars table clothes and plates etc. But before food is served keep kids inorder with star wars coloring books and stickers, or just a small pile of star wars toys.

7)You could hire people (or get a few friends who wouldn`t mind giving up a 1/2 hour or so) to dress as SW Characters and interact with your guests

I might be able to help w/ your musical entertainemtn needs. I myself am a huge Star Wars fan and have much of the music as well as some amazing (probably unheard) remixes of everything from the original 3 movies, the Darth Vader Suite in Rasta-style beat form....for instance.
