Decline Wedding Invitation
I am invited to a nieces wedding in March, I can`t attend the wedding. Is it mandatory to send a wedding gift?

Giving a gift is never mandatory; however, it`s tradition that people give gifts to the bride/groom when they get married.
If it were me, I`d send a gift. I always acknowledge the B&G whether I attend the wedding or not, espcially when it`s family.
It`s appropriate to send gifts when you decline a wedding invitation.

No, it`s not mandatory,,,,but it is your niece. I have to assume you are not close, but it is still family. My Mom says that anytime that you are invited and not able to attend a wedding, you should send a gift.

I agree send the gift. May not have to be much but it`s still the proper thing to do.

I would send a gift, just to be polite. It doesn`t have to be super expensive.

Should you send the gift with the decline? Or- Should you send the decline, and then the gift closer to the date of the wedding?

Either way is acceptable.
