How Do You Ask A Sponser?
It is customary for hispanic weddings to have sponsers to help provide for the wedding. My fiance is half hispanic and I thought this would be something that would be good to do for our wedding, but my fiance is not the type to ask for help... Ever! So, how does one do this? How do you ask a sponser and when?

Hi Kristin
First off CONGRATULATIONS! Im Hispanic and yes we do have sponsors.Or we call them "padrinos`.
Ask as soon as possible. And just simply say we`d like you to be a sponsor for *****. First you have to get pricing on everything. Then if its something that costs $500 for example you can always ask two people to share the cost. Ask can you be a sponsor for this and then if they dont have the cash you can always give them something cheaper or just say whatever they can contribute is ok too. Most hispanics expect to be asked especially the ones who are close to you. And at the reception the bride and groom always give them a special thank you.Or ask them to stand and say their names and tell them thank you and even give them a special gift for their help. Its a great because a wedding can be costly. Good Luck !

Let me get this straight. You ask people to pay for your wedding? And then if they can`t afford what you want, you then do them the favor of finding something cheaper? How "close" are these people to the bride and/or groom? I am hispanic, too. Perhaps I am a bit untraditional, but I could not imagine asking anyone to pay for our wedding.
