My Fathers Wedding
My dad is getting married and I will be dancing with him at the reception instead of his mom(she pasted away 3 years ago). My dad and I song has always been butterfly kisses, do you think that is appropriate to dance to at his wedding?

No, I don`t think it`s appropriate. I would choose a song that`s more geared for HIM as the groom. I mean rather than a song about little girl and daddy I would think that a song about an adult wishing her father well would be much more appropriate. But that`s what I think. If your father and you want that particular song, then I don`t see any reason why you shouldn`t.

When picking out my father/daughter song, I read somewhere that the song doesn`t have to be from the father to the daughter. So, if Butterfly Kisses is you and your dad`s song, it would be okay for your dad to "give" this song to you, even it`s his wedding. It`s not the norm, but it`s his wedding and he should do what he wants... And to be honest with you, if my dad and I had a song of our own, I wouldn`t change it to another one just because of tradition. It`s something special between both of you and that`s what really matters.

I agree with Kristen,
I think that if you and your father have a song that means something to the two of you, then I would ask your father and see if he does want to use the song and if he does go with that one instead of trying to look for another song.
Good luck,
