Need Info On Making My Wedding Invitations

I am getting married in July 2004 and was thinking about making my own invitations. If anyone has done this can you please give me some tips and info. I am currently in the process of looking for a place that offers a wide variety of blank invitations which I can order. I would also appreciate oppinions and/or positive or negative personal experiences on making invitations at home.

You can buy yhe kits at any office depot. The kits come with a web site where you can just answer questions and they will put them together for you. It costs 35.00 for 50 invations and envelopes and 50 thank you cards and envelopes it all comes in one big packages.

You can also go to Wal-Mart for blank invitations. I was going to make my own invitations also. I did all the research, etc. If you use a computer program for the wording, you can craft the rest. That is if you are crafty. I was going to do stencil embossing for the paper raised effect and powder embossing for texture. The only problem with making your own is, if you don`t have a good printer, everything will streak or if, like me, your guest list continues to grow. Then, to make my own was pointless. But I am going to make my own programs. That doesn`t require much work and it is more cost effective. There`s other ways to make your own. Like I said earlier, I researched. If you want more ideas reply and ask. I`d be glad to help. My wedding is in June, can`t wait.

My mother and I made my wedding invitations they were with vellum and ribbon - they were gorgeous. We bought them @Staples - they have ALOT to chose from. And it leaves you SO much room for personalization and customizing. Everyone thought I paid big $$ for the invites....little did they know!!

Good luck!!
