Can I Alter A Dress 2-4 Sizes Smaller Safely?
Hi Ladies,
Found the perfect dress...but it seems to be too large as a size 14. I normally wear a size 6 dress + busty. I understand that wedding gowns normally run 2 sizes smaller. If I am really a size "10" in wedding world, do you think it is possible to alter the size 14 wedding dress 2 whole sizes smaller?
THANKS!
Julie
P.S. Talking about Impression Bridal # 2121.

I make a replica of this gown one to one to the original in color & detail, and you submit your own mesurements so it can be done bigger at bust and smaller at waist - no alterations needed.
Dress costs $459 + free shipping, i can show you pics! Dress ships in 4 weeks!

Allow me to clairify: the dress can be taken apart and made smaller, however, you cannot be assured the dress will have the same style. It would not be cost effective to do such an alteration and not be assured that the original design of the dress would remain in tact. By the way, i have been doing professional alterations for 30 years, so i guess that makes me a professional, and i would be remiss by not letting the customer know the possible results.

Babs is right
The style of the dress will be altered, but its something you have to kepp inmind when purchasing a much larger gown.
