I Will Never Buy A Dress At David`s Bridal

Oh my goodness! I`m so sorry you women had such a horrible experience with David`s Bridal. I live in Maine. Our David`s Bridal in Portland was beyond wonderful. I scheduled my first appointment on Friday (which there were five other Bride`s there) and I went yesterday with my mom (Thursday) and I was one of two bride`s there. Both times the women worked their tails off to make sure I was happy and we just totally clicked. I ended up getting the dress of my dreams from the Oleg Cassini collection that David`s just came out with. I guess it totally depends on what day you go. If you go in the middle of the week vs. The weekend, your experience will be different. But it sounds to me like those stores were improperly managed and should be complained about to someone higher up.

I also had a very positive experience at Davids....and saved a ton of money. I saw my dress at a small shop near my house for almost $500.00 more. Everyone was helpful, everything was in when they said, and my alterations went off without a hitch, and were only $65.00 and they were perfect. I know many of you had problems but the shop in Orland Park, Illinois was great.

I was treated very abruptly at a David`s Bridal in Aurora IL, after the saleslady discovered not only was I tall, but needed a plus size. She decided to tell me that there were only three choices in my size, and knowing I was by myself, busied herself, while I attempted to wriggle in and out of each of my three whole choices. She also informed me that it was too short notice for them to alter anything, so basically it was a grab and go type deal. She then gestured over to the prom dresses when the three selections did not work for me, and said that maybe I`d find something over there.
Boy, with such great service like that, who needs competition?:( Needless to say I am still looking for someone to sell me a dress.

I am sooo sorry to hear about your David`s Bridal disaster.
You can ask your bridal consultant to go with you as you are looking for that perfect dress, usually if a Bridal Consultant is present , in any appointment, that consultant is not only known at that bridal shop, but thorughout the area, she is your personal spokes person, and that consultant is their referal to hundreds of weddings to come.
Regardless, to that ,this person was not the professional that wedding coordinators will deal with at any time.

Every thin person I know that has gone to David`s Bridal has had a good expierence. But for every plus size person (including myself) that has gone it`s been VERY unpleasant. I walked into the store in Bloomington MN just before they started carrying plus sizes. I was looking for bridesmaid dresses for my cousins wedding. I didn`t even get 2 steps into the front door when a sales clerk yelled across the room at me "We don`t carry anything to fit you!". Now I`m getting married and I called last month when they were having one of their big sells (I thought they`ld be more sensitive now). I called and asked if any plus size dresses were included in the sale. The salesperson burst out lauging on the phone and said "We had em, but those BIG dresses go really fast". I get a sick feeling in my stomach eveytime I hear their name.

I`ve had good experiences at David`s Bridal, and I am not thin at all. I had to look for a larger sized gown, and I found one I liked. The consultant I worked with was EXTREMELY helpful, at least as much as she could be, since she had other customers to work with also. (I don`t expect everything to revolve around me).

Thank you, but I was married a couple of weeks ago. I was married in another state, and was fortunate enough to rent a dress. I thank you though for your kind effort, and response to my situation. Hopefully no one else has to go through the hassle and frustrations like I did.
